Where does one change the "online content portal" web address in solidworks electrical?
I have this issue too - the button in solidworks directs to electricalcontentportal(.)trace-software.com ... it looks like the content portal is actually located at http://electrical-contentportal.solidworks.com/Page/catalogs.aspx. The problem is now I can't update my subscription because that button doesn't work either?!? The button says "unable to connect to web service"
Can anybody help with this, I have the same issue and it's driving me nuts - I'm really surprised it hasn't been discussed more or addressed. My reseller told me to contact Solidworks directly but I haven't received a response from the 5 different addresses I've tried to contact!
I originally just thought it was a 2019 issue, so updated our server licensing to 2020, installed the new version but the issues still remains. I try to update my subscription and get the error "Unable to connect to web service", clicking on forgot password links you to the old content portal address and while clicking online content does take me to the actual portal, once there I only have Silver level access and there's no way to upgrade!
I'd suggest to all to reach out to your VAR, they should be able to open a case with SW to ensure you regain access, in some cases SW has to do it themselves to get you updated in the website's system but it usually only takes a request and a day or 2, it's not hard.
Managed to get it resolved last night. Completed a fresh install of Solidworks 2020 on a computer that had never previously had Solidworks and it worked straight away. Seemed like the update from 2019 to 2020 carried over some remnant addressing to the old portal.
Thanks for your help!
