Soliworks has two options : fillet welding and bead welding. When does they apply?
Fillet Bead is a solid body and is displayed at all times.
Weld Bead is a visual representation (like a cosmetic thread) and is only visible when the View Weld Beads filter is on.
Also if i'm not wrong, others differences are :
The "Weld Bead" is displayed as a "graphic cosmetic".
It can be used in PRT or ASM, but if you use 3D section view in ASM, the bead will not be show.
And the density setting can be complicated, it depend of the unit setting in PRT-ASM.
I prefer the use of the "Real 3D Beam" (Fillet Beam) because it's a real 3D geometry, but it's my choice.
And in case of some ASM or "Hybride(ASM-PRT)" when needed, the used some "PRT (parametric home-made with weld apparence, hatch, density, etc...)", and after you can exclude it or not from the BOM.
