When I click the feature in the feature tree, it brings up the number of the circular pattern that I'm suppose to be able to change, but there is a setting that is not right. I can't change the pattern quantity.
Does any one know the setting that needs to be changed ?

Equation "D1" = Value "Ribbs". I can 't change the value in the GV.
When I click on the number in the center of the model, it supposed to open to be reset. So the setting is wrong.
You can't change it while the Equations window is open.
Yes it will. But my settings in the Options tab is wrong. Not sure which it is.
Click on "Number of Instances" and delete a current number. It let you replace it with any Global Variable available in Equation Manager:
The usual, Attach your *.sldprt file here and end all doubt.

The way you have set up the Global Variable relative to Equations does not make logical sense to me.
Also, Sketch4 does not make logical sense to me as I would expect the hole position to be variable based on number of ribs, not fixed at 45°.
This doesn't make logical sense?
Shouldn't this angle be a function of the number of ribs?

That's exactly what I'm attempting to do Professor. That is my end goal. But as per the demo by my instructor, when he clicks on the value in the center of the flange, it opens a window to allow him to change the value. Mine in not doing that. So that is the first issue I want to reset. Some where in the Options (maybe) is the setting change for this ?

Yes Professor, that is a different way of doing it and it works and I really appreciate your effort, but I'm just not sure if my instructor is going to accept this method since it's does not follow the assignment method he gave us.
To make matters worse our school is shutting down due to this CV garage and trying to converse online with him is difficult to get proper explanation of setting problem I'm having.
In the Class demo the instructor would click the circlular pattern in the feature tree, then the Equation number come up in the center of the model, he clicks that number and a little window opens and he changes the value and then and it would open to allow him to change that value on the model which would then change both circ pattern of both the holes and ribs.

The text I indicated in the screenshot below indicates that the global variable is linked to that value in the Rib Pattern. It can't be edited in the Equation manager because of that. If you want to change it to something other than 4 then you need to edit the Pattern and change it there. That will update the value in the Equation manager.

Sorry Professor, I didn't catch that part. The instruction where actually verbally given out ( really) But I video'd them. The video section of this assignment is about 15 mins. If I can figure out how to edit it and cut it down I could post it but not sure if this forum allows a file of that size ?

Not completely. If this sleeve is to carry transverse loads to the axis (e.g mast), this hole pattern makes sense - smaller flange deformation
The number of instances must be set or calculated first and and set as GV in Equation Manager.
Then you can link it as Pattern parameter.
180/8=22.5
OK, back to my original question.

On my software this does not happen.
Does anyone know what setting I have to change to fix this problem ?
I've also included 4 of the slides I recently got in a PDF from another student to help explain the assignment better.
But my main question is still the same as above. I would like to get that setting changed The instuctor seems to have no answers for this issue.
