I am trying to test to find the force that occurs when a deflection is applied. I found a way online but it seems to be older and different than the 2019 solidworks simulations.
Link to old explantation: Is there a way to apply a deflection to a beam then calculate the force required to bend the beam that amount
I attached a photo of the piece I am working on. The deflection would be moving the top piece of the plate up.
Thanks
Hi Will,
It looks like you are possibly using SimulationXpress. The thread you linked there is using the full Simulation package to create a study applying prescribed displacements to the beam and measuring applied force (as opposed to applying force to the model and measuring displacement). Do you have access to the full Simulation package in your organization? The quickest way to check is to go into 'Tools', 'Add-ins' and see if SOLIDWORKS Simulation is in this list. If it is, turn it on and use that instead.
