I am working on a label for my company to be used on various size product. We make a part model for our label that we use in assembly for different parts. Is there any way I can have one model and scale it while in assembly as per my need so that I do not have to make different label model for different sizes?
It won't work. Well OK - it will be - but you would need add constrains, relations and/or equations to all label elements . If the texts had to be changed into curves - this would be a sculpture in shit. Better design the label and use the "scale" command to change the size and define its value in configurations.
If you need to change the sizes then I would add configurations and then use the scale feature for that particular configuration.
Or...
You can add all the controlling sketches to a Sketch Block and adjust the size, however this would only get you the outline of the logo..
The simplest method would likely be to just have a distinct Part file for each use, with a different name. That way you could edit it within the context of the Assembly without affecting the Part being used in other Assemblies.
could the label be done with a note, stamp bag or tag with part # mtr, ect. adding a feature like that to parts causes them to get large.
Thanks a lot for your suggestion guys.. The thing is that my label has two parts, one has the company name and other has text in it for part and model number
The company name has custom font so I had to make a sketch out of it. The other part is pure text. My feature tree has two boss extrudes. One is the bottom plate and the other is for the naming. It becomes difficult to define the sketch and text based of the plate.
Then for sure add different Configurations and scale accordingly
make it a block and put it on the drawing.
extruding text like that eats up lots of rebuild and open time. if possible leave them as sketches instead of cuts or extrudes. Will help your performance if you worried about that.
Set up a "master sketch" as the first item in the feature tree. Sketch will be a centered rectangle with 2 dimensions (width & height).
Design your label to be linked to the master sketch. In other words, no dimensions needed!
Name this configuration "Size1".
Add a new configuration every time you need a new size. Just edit master sketch dimensions.
In the assembly, just select the appropriate "SizeX" configuration.
