Problem with Tubing
Can anybody help please?
The problem is because the component has two CPoint and SolidWorks doesn't know which CPoint to use to start the route.Jay Doshi wrote:
I am new to routing and thought it would be helpful for the project that I am working on. I am trying to create routing between two port of valve. First i inserted two male straight connector from routing library, then with auto route, created the routing. its works perfectly fine. But the male connector inserted in the assembly are created as part to main assembly instead of component in the routing sub-assembly. I am not able to figure out why? I have attached the video and screen shot for the same.
Can anybody help please?
1) Drag&Drop components into the routing assemblyJay Doshi wrote:
Hi Alessandro,
Thank you for the reply.
What you said is very true. So how to solve the problem where it has two cpoints? How to get components with more than one cpoints in routing assembly (under component folder).
One more question, when i create more than one routing of the same type (say tubing), different assembly are formed for each routing. Is this correct? As solidworks manual shows that all routing of same type are in the same routing assembly.
Please advice
My best guess is that you have automatically route on drop of flanges turned off.
Tools->Options, Routing, The first setting is "Automatically route on drop of flanges/connectors". Make sure this is enabled.
With this enabled, when you drag/drop a routing component, the routing appliocation starts, it creates a route assembly, create the route feature, moves the dropped component into the route assembly and creates the route sketch.
When yopu drop the second fitting you are already editing the route assembly so it too will drop into the route assembly.
Hope this helps.
