I'm trying to find pressure drop across a valve but I can't seem to figure out how to properly implement the no-slip condition on the walls. I inserted a new boundary condition, selected the walls, and selected Real Wall. This should mean the velocity at the wall is zero correct? When I look at a cut out of the velocity of the flow, I do not see the velocity stagnant on the wall. Or I don't even see a progression of flow velocity speed away from the wall. Can anyone help with this or know what's going on?
Hi Taylor,
The first thing that sprang to mind was that perhaps the flow through the valve is non-laminar in which case you might see the flow velocity from the center of pipe to the pipe surface be roughly the same as the flow is forced into turbulence. If you significantly slow the flow down in your setup do you see a more defined change between the center of pipe and pipe surface?
