Curious if anyone else has noticed that sketch relation dynamic highlighting in the graphics area stopped working in EV 2.0. All other dynamic highlights work as normal.
Nope, didn't try it.
Send it in to VAR so they can get it fix before SP2.
Just now did. Hope it works, I really miss it.
Well my VAR seems unable to confirm the problem I'm having with SP2.0 EV so if anyone else gets the same issue please let it be known. I get it on 2 different machines with EV and not on my 3rd with SP1.
My VAR, for whatever reason, was not able to install the 2.0EV so they couldn't reproduce my problem. However, yesterday the official 2.0 was released and with that they could reproduce it. Unfortunately that means the problem didn't get flushed out during the EV period and you all will have to live with the problem for a while if you update to the new SP. The good news is they were able to send everything to SW for further evaluation. Fingers crossed.
Yes, need to click/select the relation to show "highlight".
Woohoo! It got a SPR number. 1173057

Scott and Frederick,
Here's a link for anyone interested (as I am):
https://customerportal.solidworks.com/siebel/app/customerportal/enu?SWECmd=GotoView&SWEView=SW+OUI+All+Defects+List+cust… (thanks Dave Laban for showing me how to link directly to SPRs)
Because I don't have SP2 installed, to be clear, you see nothing when you highlight or hover over a sketch like?:
I was really looking forward to the fix in SP2 for the Envelopes to Drive In-Context Relations in SW2020. Game Changer for SSP? that they implemented with a serious bug. I was hoping SP2 would work, but if this regressive bug is what I think it is, I guess we'll wait and see what SP3 looks like...
I'll probably install SP2 to check if they fixed envelopes, but I won't bother testing it otherwise. I'll have to completely start over testing with SP3 with all these regressive bugs...May as well save my time for the release we'll plan on rolling out.
Geez! If this is a regressive issue, there is no excuse for that. They should do a little quality checking before releasing, PERIOD! They should quality check the gambit of all previous bugs to ensure they do not return. If they do, don't release the darn software! Don't put your users through these trails...
The missing highlighting is only when hovering over a sketch relation icon in an active sketch. When it's working, a hover over the icon will highlight the sketch entities tied to the relation and show (via sketch line color) what would happen if the relation didn't exist. Now in SP2 you have to actually click on the icon to get the same preview. For me at least all other hovering dynamic highlight actions within the graphics are work as normal. Everything in the design tree works as normal. My VAR was able to record a screen shot video showing this. I don't see the video with the SPR but it was with the SR. I just have to figure out how to get back to it so I can post a link here.
By the way, thanks for the link directly to the SPR. I too didn't know you could do that.
With mouse on top of the relation icon, the line and point highlights.
2020 doesn't do it.
I think I get it now. Thanks.
I didn't see it until I have 2019 and 2020 side by side.
if that is all that we are talking about time to upgrade. I did not care for that option that much.
This one bother me.
All the sketches are hidden but icon doesn't show.
Icon supposed to be gray.
Not fixed in SP2.
Isn't the position of the yellow line involved in this?
that is the freeze bar and it being at the top means that the features and sketches are not frozen.
The yellow line move down to lock features.
I'm not locking them.
How it should be in 2019.
The "Bottom" sketch is not hidden.
O.K. Can't find function of freeze bar in https://files.solidworks.com/Supportfiles/Whats_new/2020/English/whatsnew.pdf
I thought it came from down under.

Great...Do they check this software at all? Makes me wonder what other things are lurking in SW 2020 that'll really ruin your day? Do we have another possible case like With SW2017 SP2 we are seeing frequent corrupt files in assemblies hidden somewhere?
Hey Jim Steinmeyer, ya wanna download and test out SW 2020 SP2 for us?...Maybe on some production data? (too soon to rub salt in that wound?)
Retrieving data ...
