Lately whenever I do a render in SW Visualize 2019 I'll set the render time to 5 hours (hybrid render) and it takes 15 hours to complete? Any tips as to why this is?
It always took a little longer then my set time limit, but from memory only maybe 25% longer, not 3x
So I'm rendering at 6600x5100 in order to achieve 600 PPI (to match our laser printer), and I'm now noticing that when setting the pixel density this high it renders the image in 4 different quadrants, one at a time. So if I set the render to 1000 passes, it will render 1/4 the image w/1000 passes, then then next 1/4 with another 1000 passes, resulting in 4000 passes total. I imagine it's doing the same thing for the "timed render". If I set the timed render to 5 hours it will take 5 hours per quarter so 20 hours total.
I imagine this is due to the high pixel count, although it's very counter intuitive from what you'd expect. At least I'd sure think a 5 hour render should take 5 hours and not 20..
