Can someone please verify the following.
In PDMW Options, check the following;
Command Defaults>Check-Out / Open>Include attachments
Procedure;
Check-In a generic (.doc, .xls, .pdf, .dwg, etc...)
Type in a part number and description during the check-in process.
Attach this generic to an assembly.
Check-Out the assembly (stop at the check-out window).
While the check-out window is open, did the number field and description field for the generic swap?
TIA
Kenneth

I'm running thru my VAR as well but they move like molasses in a deep freeze.
I'll go ahead and also report to SolidWorks and ask to be attached to the SPR. The more people that do this, the quicker they will try to get a fix for it in an upcoming service pack.
Quick question, even though it displays swapped, does it actually swap the values in the customer properties or in the document info? Basically, is it just a visual goof-up and not actually writing any mis-information. If it's writing mis-information, that would be helpful to know and report.
It appears to be visual only.
But it is unnerving the first few times you see it.
I have not seen it effect reporting (yet).
There is one other thing I did not mention because I can't figure the exact steps to recreate.
The first few attachments I checked in (from disk) appeared to be be nice and pretty in vault with document properties.
However, I do not display the filename label and rely solely on document properties to display info. This is a real good way to at least catch a few missing or misspelled properties. Plus you don't see all of those file extensions.
Ok, back to the topic. After attaching the generics and closing and restarting SolidWorks, the Number & Description properties did not display in the vault window. All that was displayed was <> <>
I have option to edit doc properties on.
If I edited the document properties they would magically display in the vault window again.
This happened "once" per attachment.
Once each attachment goes through the process it never happens again.
I cannot seem to grasp the exact sequence of exiting and restarting SolidWorks after attaching the generics.

this bug is still present in sp5
the properties display correctly in explorer, it's just during checkout they swap.
can someone check to see if it exists in 2010?
