Configuration breaks on negative dimension values

I'm not sure if I'm doing something stupid here or if SolidWorks has a bug:

When you enter negative dimension values, the sign for this dimension changes in all configurations.

Is this by intention? I don't think so.

Attached please find my simple sample project demonstrating the issue.

First, I ...

  1. create two configurations,
  2. create a sketch,
  3. create a line in the sketch,
  4. add a vertical and a horizontal dimension to it,
  5. configure both dimensions to be configurable.

This is configuration 1:

This is configuration 2:

Next, I edit one of the dimensions to change its direction by entering a negative value (or, alternatively, by clicking the direction button left to the primary dimension value):

Doing so, the corresponding dimension now points to the other direction:

When I now switch over to the other configuration, the corresponding dimension also switched direction, but this is not by intention:

Does anyone know a remedy for this? Did I do something wrong?
