I'm importing a model into solidworks, and it's like it is importing as surfaces and exploded doughnut hollows or something instead of a solid part. Wondering if there are any settings I could be changing to import this properly, or if I need to request my vendor to be giving me a different file format, or asking what program they are using to make the model.
I'm getting the same result in here. Is this a random file from the web or did you ask someone to export to you ? If it is the second, maybe some export configurations, like not exporting surfaces, only solid bodies.
It's a file from one of my companies clients. I'm not sure what software they used to create it, but we've had problems with some of their part files before with this same error. Usually we use client models to verify dimensions of the tooling and parts we make for them, in addition to the engineering drawings they provide.

Hmmm, thanks! That does help to some extent. The part is not having any visual bugs any more, but it is also now displaying as a surface instead of a body. I guess I need to get our client to export as a body somehow?

I don't know how much this afects your work, however is always good to come to an agreement on this kinds of things.
