Does anyone else notice that if you are working on a part in context to an assembly that as you zoom in and out to select existing sketch lines that solidworks becomes painfully slow. If you change the display style (ex. from HLV to Shaved), it speeds up again but then starts to slow down again as you zoom in and out. I am running a dell precision with 32GB of memory and a Quadro P4000 graphics card.
Ok, thanks Glenn, I'll give it a try. It is currently selected 'On'. I just turned it off and will restart Solidworks and try it for a while.

OK, I tried it both ways.
With the 'Enhanced Performance Graphics' turned off, the performance is a lot better. There is no slow down of scrolling or zooming when I am working on a sketch in a part with other bodies showing.
With the 'Enhanced Performance Graphics' turned on, as I work on the sketch, the zoom and movement functions become incredibly slow.
I am going to leave it off for now.
This has to be some sort of video card / software interface problem.

The other thing I noticed is related to my previous posts on text selection. When I first start Solidworks and open a drawing, selection of text in notes works very well and as expected. However, I just noticed that if I leave the drawing and open a part and then edit one of the sketches in one of the bodies of the part and come back to the drawing, the problem with the text selection in the note reappears. That is when I click somewhere in the note on a letter, all of the text behind the point I select gets selected. A restart of Solidworks seems to fix the problem - that is until I let the computer go to sleep or leave the drawing and edit a sketch in a part. This text selection problem occurs whether the 'Enhanced Performance Graphics' is turned on or off but leaving it off does solve the problem of progressively slow zooming and movement in the workspace while editing a sketch.

Will do - it's a big enough problem that it is significantly affecting workflow speed.

At this point, the checkbox should be labelled 'Enhanced Frustration'

I'm still using SW2019, but I've seen a fair number of similar complaints here from people using SW2020. Do you have the option below selected? I believe it's usually (maybe always) turned on by default. If it's on, try turning it off.
