I need help connecting these two rectangle bars. Thanks!
Are you in a part file or an assembly?
if you look at the drawing there is a angle dimension of 22 1\2 degrees that is needed on the 2 ends of the bars.
then the piece you attach need 22 1\2 on each end also.
If an assemble draw a part for the insert piece, that is 6 3\4 long at the widest point, then put 22 1\2 degree sides on it.
save and add to the assembly, if a part make sure to turn off merge results check box, and you'll get a separate body of the 45 insert.
If that's an assembly file start over with a part.
Is that's square tube start over with a weldment.
If you want to save what you have...
Try cutting the ends at an angle. Green
Draw a line from the middle of the edges. Blue
Do an extrude as a thin feature use the thickness and extrude dimension to get the square stock. Don't merge features.
Trim the new angled body with the end faces of the original body. Then merge features. Not sure this will work without trying.
I would suggest you start over an use the weldment structural member tool even if you want solid stock.
