I keep "Enable on screen numeric input on entity creation" turned on, and use it often.  However, I occasionally run into a situation where my cursor is nowhere near anything for the line to snap to, but when I enter a value and hit Enter the end of the line snaps coincident to some other line, model edge, etc, and a driven dimension is placed on it, and it's not the one I entered.  Instead the snap somehow overrides the desired value.  Does anyone know how to stop that, short of turning off snaps?

Edit:  It occurred to me that a picture might help explain the problem.  See below.  When I placed the lower end of the bottom line my cursor was approximately where the red star is.  I typed in 9 and hit Enter.  As you can see, the end of the line snapped to the model edge and I got a driven dimension instead of the driving dimension that I wanted.
