Nvidia FX Quadro 1700 not working with Vista 64

I originally osted this in the performance category before I noticed this is a more suitable catergory.

I just purchased a new system with Vista 64/ 6GB memory/quad core CPU. The motherboard has integral video. SW2009 SP3.0 works fine. However, I installed my Nvidia Quadro FX1700 with the latest driver downloaded from Nvidia and SW was performing very poorly and with video problems. Some symptoms:
1. tip callouts would not be visible; the outline of the tip callout could be faintly seen but no content was visible
2.Sw would lock up and crash.
3. movement of parts in window was terribly slow and inconsistent.
4. Switching between windows (not just SW) would stall the machine and lock it up for a period of time.

I removed the Nvidia and went back to the integral video and SW is now working fine, as is the entire system.

I am using Norten Security 2009 and a space traveller 3D controller. Any ideas/suggestions- I would sure like to use this card which was working just fine in my earlier computer (so it is not the Nvidia card).?
