I have an old Oculus Rift DK2 but I do not have the controllers. I was wondering if there is a way to get the keyboard and mouse to work with edrawings VR. I was able to get the models to open but I cannot move around the part.
This would be a good feature to have alright. Being able to turn off gravity and navigate with the cursors would be very useful.
I do not know of anyway to do this. Currently the VR support, or at least the customisation thereof, seems extremely limited at the moment.
I have a Rift S with Touch controllers, and the default controller set up in my opinion is woeful. Having to tilt the joystick at the same time of clicking to perform any movement is tedious, tiresome (literally - for your fingers) and inaccurate. I spend most of the time fighting my way around, which is a real immersion breaker. It is also difficult for any non-VR / controller proficient person to pick up. I have to tutor people & spend a lot of time making excuses for what would otherwise be a great experience!
Hope they add some more button / controller profiles in the next iteration!
I find it quite intuitive to be honest. Given that SW don't appear to have put much time into it, they certainly have done a good job. Just requires a few additional features and it would be really useful.
If you're using HTC vive or mixed reality headset, you should be able to teleport to any place in and around the model/floor with much ease. If you're asking if we can add keyboard and mouse while you're wearing the headset, then this is not a good idea. The reason, is that it could give you nausea and motion sickness. Any continuous motion in VR while you are stationary in the real-world will make you nauseated. So we have to be careful how to make sure you can use VR for extended periods of time.
