    Student Edition Upgrade

Are there any issues when installing SolidWorks 2008 student edition when SolidWorks 2007 student edition is already installed on the computer? Should the old version be uninstalled? Will there be issues with the license file? This is installed on a students personal computer.

Unless you need the old version, the general rule is to do a clean install. This involves uninstalling the program, any associated program folders and cleaning the registry. If, however, you do want to keep the old version, create a new folder under C:/Program Files and name it SolidWorks 2008, or something along those lines. During the install, when prompted, direct the install to that folder.
