Hello -- I am running a new installation of Composer 2019 and have two questions. 1) I noticed that my Camera Views don't show the diagonal gray appearance in the view thumbnails pane as they used to in 2017. Is this a bug, or a setting that I have to change? 2) I'm working with models created by an outside vendor. Is there any easy way to purge unneeded metadata from the hundreds of parts in this assembly, other than clicking on "properties" for each part and deleting the unwanted metadata? Appreciate any tips or suggestions. Thanks!

Hi,
SOLIDWORKS changes the way how camera views are identified. You'll find a small camera symbol in Composer 2020:
But there is an issue, I've reported to SWX: When the view is in portrait mode or is a square, the camera symbol is cuttet off... not good.

For the second question i will call Dirk Rautenberg, CEO of KRENKO. He offers his Toolbox for Composer, delivering a ton of usefull stuff for the Composer. Take a look at his homepage: Toolbox – Krenko

  Thank you, Heiko. My paper space view is set as portrait mode default, so I was not seeing the camera symbol! Problem solved. This indeed seems like something that should be corrected by Solidworks.
  
  I will take a look at the Krenko website to see if the Toolbox contains anything to delete metadata. The assemblies and parts I am working with have several metadata fields, about 2/3 of which are blank. It would be helpful to purge these empty fields so I don't have to scroll through the entire list to locate the ones I actually need when creating customized BOMs.

  the toolbox is able to delete metadata as well as write all into external Excel file. And so it is able to import changed or new Matedata into an composer file. There is a test version 14 days available.

1) I think the camera view thumbnail graphic changed along with all the icons in the 2019 update.

2) You might try unchecking the 'Import Meta-Properties' box in the import settings within solidworks composer. This means you have to open the assembly from within composer, instead of saving it out as an SMG from solidworks proper. This also means you'll have to import it fresh, I don't know how to remove the properties from a current file.

I found the same check box in solidworks options, see below.
