Font Point size is defined as 1 POINT =1/72 INCH in the rest of the world. Solid Works seems to define it as 1/100 of an inch (not exactly). Can I change the point scale so when I choose 16 point it is not .16 high but instead .222?

wow I hate them darn points, We have the choice to make them a dim, or use points, of course the boss picks out points from EXCEL or Word, and then I need to match them to SolidWorks. Ansi standards determines what size text should be on drawings for notes and dimensions. The only place I would see varying that is for data entered in the title-block.
Thanks all!
I have inherited a bunch of designs that have font on them because the parts are sent out for screen printing. The printers use Microsoft products or others that use font points....Of course I am now changing them to height and making it incumbent on the screen printer to do the conversion. FYI, I got a creepy feeling that perhaps AutoCAD created this new scale back in the eighties but they I checked and they do not use points anywhere I can find.
I never noticed this. I always just use .125" for annotations and dimensions and .25" for titles...Never even noticed that discrepancy.
I'd guess that what you are asking for is not currently possible. You can submit it to your VAR and see if they can get you an SPR on this. Then post it back here.
