about 2 weeks ago i upgraded my computer to win10.at first did not see a problem, but now it is so slow it is unusable.
What version of SW are you using? SW2015 sp5 was the first version approved to run with Win 10, so if you're using an older version that might be the problem.
See this thread
Save/AutoSave is ridiculously slow in SolidWorks 2019
Check, download and update all drivers to Win10.
Windows only install basic drivers.
What happened before it got slow? New Windows update?
Sorry for the delay. went into panic mode and used a shotgun approach to solving the problem. Found one update at the time for adobe dc and just removed the whole program. Got rid of the last windows update. lastly I seen I was behind in sw updates and remedied the problem. it is now 2019 sp5.0. that did it. do not know which one actually worked but I did get my work done in time.
Could have been a Windows defender or other virus scan / indexing service running causing high disk usage as well. This would be much more noticeable if you have an HDD instead of SSD, but I've seen SSD's at 100% usage as well. If it happens again, open up task manager and look at the performance tab. See if any resources are maxed out.
