I need to edit a revolve dimension. But can't figure out how to get back to the pre-revolve dimensions ?
Is this possible ?
thank you, Frank
When you create a normal sketch and put dimensions to the line that you are going to use as your revolve axis, then revolve it, the sketch automatically changes those dimensions to radius dimensions. It makes sense, because, after the revolve, those do define radii.
They shouldn't actually be any different than the original dimensions that you placed there. They should have the same value, except now they just have an "R" in front of them.
Just edit them as normal.
Dimension doesn't change after Revolve.
Which one you want to change?
Just edit the sketch?
Edit the Feature?
The two deminisions at the bottom where not radius before the revolve feature was triggered. I need to change those.
Edit the sketch, double click the dimension.
extend you center line threw the solid line,
delete the radius dims and re dimension so they show up as diameter dims.
Edit the sketch, select the dimension.
Look in the sidebar at the Dimension Text panel.
Delete the "R" but leave the <DIM>.
The R won't come back when you rebuild or edit again.
Hope this helps.
Great information ! Thank you.
But I'm interested in knowing how to set SW up to show both the Metric dim and decimal equivalent in parenthesis ?
Thanks again, Frank
Thank you Teemu
