How to backup solidwork software to prevent computer motherboard and hard disk damage? Is there alternative to backup it's license without charge? Thanks a lot.
there is no need for a backup. In case of a defective computer you can contact your VAR and he will help you to unlock the license.
Someone could help the case thanks a lot.
But I don't buy maintain , they reply us it need charge for license transfer if it's original computer damage.
To improve legal SWX activations without inconveniencing the user you can bookmark this TTL idea and vote for it later when voting opens. Provide a Fail-Safe for License Activation https://r1132100503382-eu1-3dswym.3dexperience.3ds.com/#community:h6OPd8sKT4u_n1j65oVt7A/idea:VQymRWoNTvulAUXLkCLfDg
I would call Solidworks Customer Center at 800-693-9000 and let them know you license is stuck on a machine that is no longer accessible. Also inform them that your Value Added Reseller is not able to help with getting you up and running with your license.
1. If we keep it's original activate file, would it be possilbe to use it to cancel original license of bad computer?
2. Becasue we don't buy maintenance of solidwork software, does it need charge of cancel original license? Thanks a lot.
You can use Disk Imaging backup software such as Clonezilla (open source software) to capture everything that is on the PC. When the PC dies, apply the image to spare identical hardware. Then the new PC has everything the old one had.
I used to use this method to perpetuate dead licenses of other design software when its license key would not reactivate. The activated installation carries through the cloning as if it's the same PC.
