Is there a way to see if a surface is single or double curved in Solidworks? We're producing furniture in veneer/plywood, so for us it's really important to stick to single curved surfaces.
Is that what you're talking about? So the double curve is already a line.
My English is not enough. I'm sorry if you misunderstood you.
English is not my first language - If you point out my mistakes I'd be very grateful..
Maybe surface curvature combs can give you enough information?
The on on the left is doubled curved - the right singled.
Thanks for your answers Maha Nadarasa Søren Stærk ömür tokman
I have tried to use all your alternatives to figure out if we can produce our surface in veneer/metal (and if it is single curved (non-gaussian)) without success. Attached you will find four alternatives of producing a similar design, one of them was not possible to produce, even though we believe that that surface is single curved. Can you help us figure out if those surfaces are single curved?
Maybe you could use a macro?
I don't have time at the moment to explore further but there's an example in the help
2012 SOLIDWORKS API Help - Get Surface Type Example (VBA)
Did you try? maybe it will help.
I'm not sure what I should try ömür tokman?
