We have a habit of posting helpful, 1-minute quick-tip videos for our CUSTOMTOOLS users. This time, as this was related to core SOLIDWORKS sheet metal functionality, we thought it might be useful for people not using our tools as well.
In this video, Tim Rosendal Halvorsen shows you how to control which side is defined as the face-up -side for your DXF export. You need to select the flat pattern, click on edit feature, and SOLIDWORKS will highlight the fixed face for you. You can then select another fixed face by clicking on the desired face in your model.
