This is my first blog post so I apologize in advance for being a forum newb. Anyhow, I have a couple of issues with view labels. Issue 1: The first time I right click on a drawing view and select "add view label" nothing happens. The second time I do it a blank note box appears. If I type in something like "Detail A" everything is fine.
Issue 2: If I type in something like "A-10000-1" into the view label box, the software somehow interprets this as entering a drawing scale. Basically it will interpret the scale as 10000:1. The view then "disappears" from the screen as soon as you click outside of the note box. Actually it's gotten so huge due to the scale change you can't see it without using "Zoom to Fit". If you edit the scale, or reset it to "use sheet scale" in the feature manager the view goes back to normal. Unfortunately it took a while of futzing around and a call to our VAR to figure this out. Does anyone know of a setting or work around to fix this behavior? I'm using SW 2019 professional.
One thing that I do want to add, is if there is already a scale there, then it will not interpret whatever you type there as a scale.
However, the scale actually is deleted from the view label if the view scale matches the sheet scale, so leaving a scale in place (checking the "add view label on view creation" checkbox) won't always work.
So, my suggestion is that you create a note that you like and save it in your design library and drag it in whenever you need it. Then modify it as needed.
