I reinstalled it in an attempt to retrieve a menu that I had misplaced, but now a bunch of assets and templates and stuff aren't available anymore. Is there an installer I can run that retrieves lost/lacking files?
What kind of assets?
You might need to edit File Locations.
You'll need to know where were the old assets.
I reinstalled Solidworks. So I figured it would reinstall the old ones, I don't know if I could find where they were located because they should have been deleted and restored.
I need some kind of verify integrity/restore default files. Could I run the setup again perhaps?
I don't know what you mean by assets, but it sounds like you had your custom templates saved in the SW installation folders. You should be able to open an existing document, delete all features, sketches, components, drawing views, etc (depending on file type, of course), then Save as... template. And this time I'd recommend saving them somewhere else on your hard drive or network, and map to that location at Tools > Options > System Options > File Locations > Document Templates.
I didn't create anything custom, it's just all the base files seem jumbled/lost/missing. Not sure how to restore them but perhaps running the setup again might relocate them.
did you save you custom settings ?
all you needed to do was to reload them.
tech support likes those kind of calls you should have called them first
I didn't really make any settings changes, I have just suddenly started having issues with missing fonts and templates. Also now my smart dimensions don't have numbers and sometimes start up in m rather than mm.
