I'm trying to figure out how to make a nice lamp stand (think of curved rods around a vase running from bottom to top), which I began from this video:

SolidWorks Tutorial Decorative Steel Grill - YouTube

So, ive:

1) created revolved body as my base

2) created sweeping surface of a lane to create an intersection curve of the shape I want.

3) used 'intersection curve' to create a line of the curve I want

4) hid the parts from step 1 and 2 to be left with my curved line in 3D space

5) created a swept body to create my first piece

6) I thought I should be able to just use circular pattern but it will only ever show 1 instance

If I accept, I get only 1 instance but a different instance

I read about using geometry pattern but that still wasn't working

Then I read that it may be because i'm patterning a stand-alone body that isnt part of another feature so I added a base to pattern on

BUT NOW WHEN I REVOLVE PATTERN THIS HAPPENS

HELP.
