Is there a site that we can go to to get material files that
SolidWorks can use. generic material like ABS PC is not the same as
Cycoloy C6200 for example.
Creating a custom material is generally useless as I can not add yield strength and other properties supplied by the manufacture to the new custom material properties.
Having to "choose a material that is close to the final material" and copying this to the custom material folder, then trying to edit the new material is about as helpful as trying to freeze water using a blow torch as well. It would be far easier to have a new material "wizard" so we can create the new material with all of the manufactures supplied data.
The above would then allow the FEA tools to give us error free and correct information as to whether or not the part will work in its application.
I have put in an enhancement request for this as well.
