Limit distance and limit angle are very convenient mates, however, I have repeatedly encountered situations whereby the limit distance and angle mates lose their zero reference, and flip to the opposite direction of the desired motion. In other words, if I wanted to control the rotation of a part 0 to 5° CCW from a rest position, often times the motion will flip to CW. I typically use face or planar selections, but have not noticed any difference if I use axes or edges as the selections. When using planes, I have not manipulated the planar normal. Any ideas as to how to yield more reliable usage of the feature?
You could draw a sketch of the path and a dot on the part and make it follow.
