Hi
I currently in a support position and our solidwork users have just been given new HP Z book 17 G5, I7, 32 Ram, 512GB SSD with 1 TB SSD to put PDM on. Nvidia Quadro P3200 6GB
Running windows 10 64 bit 1903
My question is how best or what is the recommended settings for optimum solid work performance.
I have download all the latest drivers from HP using HP assist and Intel support and of cource made sure windows is up to date.
On installing Nivida drivers i get a Nview desktop manger but there is not anywhere to tell it to use the Nvidia card for solidworks like i do in the intel control panel
Any pointer or what should be set would be gratefully recieved.
Graphics driver should be the one recommended here; SOLIDWORKS Hardware Certification | Hardware & System Requirements | SOLIDWORKS which is not necessarily the latest one from HP / NVidia.
In nView Desktop Manager there's a link to NVidia Control Panel;
There you can make program specific settings;
Other than that make sure the system power settings are set to Maximum Performance when Plugged In and that should be that. I've barely faffed at all with my ZBook 15 G5 and it's humming along nicely.
