I have several drawing files that are showing a reference to a part; but there is nothing related to the part in the drawing file that I can find. How can I find what is causing the reference or ho can I remove the reference
You can break the references, but I wouldn't.... Unless you're 100% sure that you're not breaking something you shouldn't..
When I create my template, I used a part to set up custom properties.
I had delete the views before save the template.
From time to time, a drawing will ask for that part.
Sometimes the View Palette can cause some reference issues.
Try closing everything except the thing(s) you know are supposed to be linked to your drawing, then hit the refresh button on your view palette.
from time to time I will copy a drawing that had a detail view of a sub assembly in it. Something that i converted to a block now. For some reason I have not been able to unattach those files from the drawing in some cases. It did not bother me that they are there, made no affect to the overall drawing so I ignore it till it becomes a problem. That should be next week or next year.
Look for any hidden views, section view, details views, and other references and see if you can delete them and eventually you should find the one that will make the ref go away.
