Can some one help me to flat pattern the attached model please
In the real world will the hole be cut in the flat state before the part is bent, or will it be cut after the part is bent?
cut before the part is bent
That is not what you modeled.
Unfortunately I am running later release than you.
Someone will come along with solution that you can open.
Yes you are correct, I know only the final product details and want to find out how it is going to be in flat condition
You can use Surface Flatten
thanks for that, but it is not giving me correct arc length
You can "cheat" with Surface Flatten.
The part is 15mm thick.
Assuming K-factor is 0.5.
Change the thicken to 15mm * 0.5 = 7.5mm.
Surface Flatten on the inside surface will give you "correct" flat.
You have to play with the K-factor.
Frederick Law assumption looks right for me as well.
Perhaps this workflow will get you where you wish to be:
EDIT: Instead of the fillets, an unfold, corner cut and fold is better.
Just maintain some of the original edge.
Sorry, it is not giving me the correct result with the proper profile
Of course, you can start it as a sheet metal part from the very beginning.
Do you know why the edge is not continuous or a single edge?
I really don't know why the surface and edge lines are not continuous.
Will investigate that tomorrow.
