Hi everyone,

I looking for a way to handle assignment of serial numbers for article numbers. Right now we have read-only variable on the CAD data card that gets filled as a part or assembly is added to the vault. However, I would like to incorporate the creation of this number somewhere later in the workflow, as we'd rather not have each and every conceptual sketch being assigned with a number.

Can anyone tell me how this could best be done? 

I already tried something with working in a projects folder with a different data card (same workflow) and then using Move Tree with Regenerate Serial Numbers in Cards to move the files to the location where the other files are located. That doesn't work, the variable just stays empty.
