Please refer to the attachment. I am having difficulty getting this sectional view for a cord.
Use this option in the section view property
I did and attached is what I get. Can't get that full circle.
Whats the geometry of the part ? Isn't that the cause ?
I assumed that as well but I'm wondering if I can get a complete circle as shown in the original post.
My WAG on this one:
It appears to me that your section plane is not perpendicular to the circular profile axis.
This will be an easy one to solve once you have Attached the files in question.
I have to agree with J. Mather on this one. If you do not have a perfectly placed cut, you will not get a perfect circle.
The section cut must be perpendicular with the axis in the cord if you want a perfect circle.
You could create a plane that is perpendicular to the axis of the cord then create a custom view that gives the perfect position for that section line.
Posting your file would be much easier at helping you.

If the "cord" is a helically wound model with a central core, then you won't get a section as shown in your original post if the section is perpendicular to the axis. The first image would be a section for a tube or pipe.
If the cord is helical, then your second image may be more representative.
But without actual data, this reply is just another dart on the dartboard.
Please attached your files as this will minimize the guessing.
How can I attach a file to a forum post?
