Hello guys, I am working on a steel structure and I'm using a little part in more than one sub-assembly and I would like to know if there is a way to know each sub-assembly its been used?
You could try using the 3rd party software Bibotac created by Joel Condevaux . It works very well & can allow you to do many more other things that SW Explorer used to do.
First question......are you using PDM?
If not then, you could use Solidworks explorer:
Then, inside Explorer, RMB on an item and select Rename (but don't actually rename it):
Then, in the new window, let it run its search, it will show you all the documents that it is used in:
You just have to make sure that your options are set correctly:
If you use Solidworks PDM search you can click on the where used tab . . .
If you want to find the where used sub-assemblies within the active assembly document, you can use the following macro: Find the where used assemblies of the selected component using SOLIDWORKS API
