I "think" the ownership is finally going to upgrade from Workgroup to PDM Standard. (Insert snarky colloquialism here)
Can anyone point me to some reading on different vault structure benefits / best practices?
We are organized around projects and our Workgroup vault has project based folders. I am interested in mostly big picture ideas.
Some items of interest would be:
- All files for a project in the same folder vs split up in some other way ???
- Any issues with subfolders under the project to organize major functional areas?
- Library & fasteners moved from network folders into the vault - how do you arrange
- Thoughts on non-Solidworks items (Autocad, images, pdf, documents, etc) brought into the vault
We are in preliminary discussions with our VAR. Sizing the hardware now. Meeting with them sometime next week to size up a migration approach (planning on using them for migration services).
