I cannot create a new part template in the Student version of SW 2019. Seems to be noway to save changes.
You can save any part as .prtdot.
What kind of "changes" you try to save?
See if Why aren't the changes I made at Tools > Options > Document Properties saved when I start a new Part? will help.
Should be as easy as doing the save as and picking the right pull down
i have not played with the student version as much as I should have. would be kind of depressing to get back to work and not have all the options and tools that in that version.
Do you not think they are saving because you don't see the new templates when you make a new part or assembly? Are you saving it to the correct folder? The templates you see when you make a new component are in a specific folder. Go to tools-options-file locations-Document Templates.
Might also have to change to the advanced options for the template screen. The default one is for new SW users only.
Thanks, I got it to work. Issue was local computer related.
Same for 2019 as well.
