Been trying to open a Solidworks drawing for a while, actually left it sit over night 
Others here can open it but I just get the "Solidworks is busy running the Open command". The CPU % also stays at 0? Another strange thing is the file size is 3X the size as a similar drawing?
Any help is appreciated.

Drawing opened in Quick vew but the model didn't show up in the drawing model tree.
Drawing didn't open using Quick view. Went to "Solidworks is busy running the open command"
Tried renaming model and open drawing but it goes back to the "Solidworks is busy running the open command"

It sounds more like a corrupt drawing than a resource issue. Also, quick view does not load the model so it should not show anything in the tree. It was just one way to test the drawing.
I would either use a backup, redraw it, or submit to VAR/SOLIDWORKS to see if they can tell what is wrong. But be aware the last option can take a while to submit and get something back from them so typically most users I would help would choose to just redraw it.

That being the case, I would test starting SOLIDWORKS via one or both of the "Safe Modes" on the bottom of the General tab of SOLIDWORKS Rx. This would check to see if it may be a rogue/bad setting or video card issue.
You can also reset your user settings manually to test.
A full system-wide method is to rename or delete the registry setting for SolidWorks (with SolidWorks closed);
Start > Run > Regedit > HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > SolidWorks
Then just delete the new key and rename after if the test does not help to set your settings back.

Did Solidworks stop with the jumping on peoples computers and check them out for problems?
Never mind. I forgot they password protect our computers here.

Have you tried opening via Quickview or Lightweight mode? I would also try opening the models fully resolved that are in the drawing first then try opening the drawing.
Another trick is to rename the path of the models in the drawing forcing it to "fail to open" and resulting in empty views. Then you can rename the path back and show one view at a time to see if possibly a view is corrupted and not the entire drawing.
If the file size is that much larger it could very well be corrupted and would need to be sent to your VAR for review and possibly passed along to SOLIDWORKS.
