I am trying to project a curve, I have selected the curve, direction and projection plane. I keep getting the same error - see attached jpg.
Does anyone have any idea what the reason might be? Are there some restrictions on the sketch?
So do you actually want a projected curve or just a derived or projected sketch?
For derived sketch, select the plane and the sketch, Insert - Derived sketch
If you attach the file I can try.
It should work. Have you tried toggling the Reverse Direction check box? Sometimes it's trying to project in the wrong direction and the indicator can be kind of small and hard to find.
Hi, You should make guide curve to enable you in using projected curve cause as shown as in figure you don't make that
You may be thinking about a different tool. Projected curve just needs a sketch and a plane or face:
Thank you for the responses.
I have tried both directions and Bi-Directional, but still no luck. I imagine I am doing something silly and at this point I am stumped. So I have attached a file where I would like to project sketch 1 onto Plane 1. I'm having the same problem with this.
Thanks in advance!
Thank you Teemu, this is what I wanted to do.
I am a former NX user where it is called project sketch.
This is what I get in your file.

The projection will work if you remove those two angled lines in the middle of the rectangle.
