In one drawing hole callout gives all the information but in other (2nd picture) it gives lack of information. Even though those are three counter bore hole cut by using extrude cut. How to explain this?
I have not seen hole callout work with just extruded cuts. Could you provide screen shots of the feature manager tree
Use the Hole Wizard to create a counter-bored hole instead of using Extrude Cut.
i don't know which version you use,in 2015,the right way is use hole wizard to build a counter-bored hole.if you use extruded-cut,in the drawing the dimensioning is only diameter.
While it is true the counterbores were created with cuts, part 1 was created with a cut-revolve (both diameters are in same feature) whereas part 2 was created using two cut-extrudes (each cut only has one diameter). In part 1 I was very surprised that SolidWorks was able to accurately create the hole callout (the things that do work in SW). In part 2, just as Jacky Hao stated only the diameter of the hole will be displayed.
Best Practice where I work is if a hole is for a screw then hole wizard is used to create it. That way you get the correct hole callout along with the quantity of holes.
Hope this helps explain the why.
