Will check this out tonight. Running a Zbook G5 17 with Quadro P4200 and I think the latest driver from nVidia (not from SW). Did not expect the problem to stem from that. Switched the 'performance pipeline' off and the issue disappeared. Did not give it more thought.
Will get back on the results.....
Test became somewhat delayed. I was running the QNF version of the Quadro driver (436.30) and installed the latest ODE version as a test (431.94). Display of a simulated result is changed somewhat, but still not correct. SW displays the result model in the initial orientation and does not rotate the view. Hovering over the display shows highlights of the non deformed and invisible 3D model. Something is going on. Will contact my VAR.
Problem seems to be solved. Digging around in multiple settings I came upon the 'Gradient' setting under 'Colors'. Setting this to 'Plain' seems to have solved the problem…..
Will try more this evening, but looks promising (and strange at the same time). I got the feeling also that there was a performance gain with the setting to plain. I need to test this.
Maybe this info is of some help to somebody….
Can confirm that I'm getting the same behavior with a Quadro card as well
Using System Options -> Colors -> Background Appearance: Gradient causes Mesh and Simulation results to display incorrectly
Using any other option: "Plain", "Use document scene background", "Image file" works fine in my testing
Will submit this to SOLIDWORKS
I do not see the same issue with the 'Enhanced graphics performance' option enabled (please see below), so the issue you are experiencing could be specific to your graphics card/driver, files, user settings, or other hardware factors. You may want to check for a newer graphics driver (if available) for your graphics card as a first troubleshooting step. Check your graphics card manufacturer's driver website too - they may have an even newer driver listed that is worth testing.
Beyond that, please be sure to contact your SOLIDWORKS Value Added Reseller (VAR) to troubleshoot this issue. To get the most efficient help possible, send your VAR a SOLIDWORKS Rx Problem Capture with video that shows the behavior as well as your model files.
