Intel Xeon Processors

Has anyone tried these processors:

Intel Xeon W-2125 (4Ghz, 4,5Ghz Turbo, 4core, 8,25Mb Cache,HT)

Intel Xeon W-2135 (3,7Ghz, 4,5Ghz Turbo, 6core, 8,25Mb Cache,HT)

Intel Xeon W-2145 (3,7Ghz, 4,5Ghz Turbo, 8core, 11Mb Cache,HT)

It looks like the 4Ghz processor has the lowest single thread performance.

Which one would you select, assuming you are using it for ?

no1. modeling in Solidworks, rendering and simulation.

no2. Only modeling in Solidworks

Are there others you would prefer and why ?

you mean 4ghz has the fastes single thread performance - not slowest?

no1. depends when rendering is done - Photoview (uses CPU cores)/visualize better with GPU.

I would go for 4ghz, or if Xeon can be overclocked then for 8core overclocked to 4.5ghz - more cores always better:)

  they are all from the same series and release in early 2017. I would say, the single core performance should be all the same (until you split hairs).
  
  So, for modeling in SWX the 2125 will be the best choice. Rendering and Simulation will speed up with the number of cores and with this said, the 8 core 2145 will deliver the best performance.
  
  But the prices are rising from around 500 to 900 to around 1250 EUR. I think this is pretty expensive.
  
  I would always prefer a more actual CPU, because you will get more bang-for-the-buck. To name an example: The Xenon E-2276G has 6 cores and boosts up to 4.9 GHz. And the price is under 500 EUR!
  
  Or choose a i9 CPU to get even more performance - though they will not support ECC RAM.
