Making PRT's smaller file size

I get an IFC file of about 6,2 MB

I import it into Solidworks and it becomes an ASM.

I save that ASM as a PRT and the result is a 12,7MB file.

Okay, so far, everything is normal.

Now I make a new ASM from that PRT and not doing anything, not adding or removing nor changing anything, not even settings or image quality, I save that ASM as a PRT. The result is 6,6 MB

Hmmm..... am I alone in finding that strange?

I do the same thing again, open a new ASM, bring in the latest version PRT and saving the result as a PRT and now the PRT is 5.7MB.

Is this normal?
