Is there a feature that will explode the entire assembly instead of having to drag each part individually?
I was gonna say "You can choose "Auto Explode" - I just noticed in 2019 that it's not a choice anymore, and even when it was a choice, it didn't work well, I never used it.
You can highlight multiple parts and drag them together..
There is the check box: Auto Space Components on Drag
It is quicker, but only if all your components need to be dragged the same direction.
(Disclaimer: the example above was just a quick grab of a few components, so doesn't actually represent what I would actually do)
Thanks but I'm looking more for a feature that will explode the assembly with one click.
Yeah, I am not sure that there is one.
Exploded View (Auto Explode)
can solidworks do exploded view automatically?
You can sort of do it, if you grab everything, and then toggle on the "auto space components on drag" Then drag everything in one direction, they will begin to expand as you drag, then you can go back in and move them around. It's dirty, totally worthless for making drawings from, but if you need something quick, it will sometimes work in a pinch.
