Looking for some good ideas.
Currently I have PDM tasks setup to generate pdf's of released files. They are setup to version the pdf file so I have a complete history of previous revisions. I have the pdf's in a released state and since I use the admin account to run the task on a remote machine, I just add new versions without any state changes.
Everything works well, the only thing I am lacking is a way to look at the history and see the revisions. Currently all the comments are 'SOLIDWORKS Task Add-in' since the PDM Task offers no way to customize the version comment.
Does anyone have a way of accomplishing this in a simple way?
I was thinking of either using dispatch to check out/check in the file with a comment or possibly to run the pdf through another state, but both of these will add extra unneeded versions.
