Just started learning SolidWorks 2019 at my university. I bought a Dell Precision 7520 workstation specifically for SolidWorks and MATLAB purposes. The laptop has a Xeon E3-1545m V5 CPU, 32 GB RAM, Quadro M2200 GPU and a SK Hynix 512GB M2 SSD.
I have made sure all the correct drivers are installed, disabled switchable graphics in the BIOS and really tweaked every setting to get maximum performance from the laptop.
I have problems with just overall laggy performance. For example when i create a new part in SW and use Smart Dimension it takes about 2 seconds from clicking a line until i get the box where i can type in my own dimensions.
I have not touched any settings in SW besides disabling some plugins to get faster startup times.
