So I have a part that I initially created in SW2018 and am now editing in SW2019. Now that I have edited the part I have lost all of the Sheet metal cut list properties.
I have no idea how to get them back, what has happened?
Alright, apparently I found an interesting glitch. The only difference in process of alteration is that I didn't use the roll-back bar, and the sheet metal cut list properties stayed intact.
Try a right-click on the top cut list and select Update.
I have Update Automatically on for the cut list.
These were the Sheet metal properties till I altered the part with SW2019
Do you have a backup version that was last saved with SW2018?
I do of a sort, I need to alter the part significantly for the current project. This is the 2018 version, with the sheet metal properties intact.
What type of edits have you done? I edited a dimension or two, and added another weldment body, and the properties were all still there.
By the way, I see you've used sheet metal features to create flat strap. Have you ever considered creating plate and strap as a weldment instead?
We have some flat bar extrusions that are set up as weldments, but the parts that we're using here need to be reported in our inventory system as sq ft. So I have considered it but for this use it's better with the sheet metal set of properties.
So I am rebuilding this part for the third time now. At this stage it seams as though the weird loss of sheet metal properties was due to use of the roll back bar in the alteration process. I'll post an update once I've made more determinations
This definitely needs (in my opinion) to be reported (via the VAR channel) to Solidworks. Ask your VAR to step in and look at the two files and send them an RX they should open a case with Solidworks (unless they can find the reason in your RX file).
You are absolutely correct, I contacted them yesterday.
