How to turn off the "snap to grid" feature when using grids.

So i have been trying to make a couple polylines along a plane, as this is the only way i have found to draw exploded lines with polylines and not using paths. I am using the grid command to accomplish this.

So it work out pretty well, but the "snap to grid" feature ( for a lack of a better term) is enabled and i can't figure out how to turn it off.

also if there is any info on the grid feature i would love to see it as i kinda just found it out by clicking on stuff and i have searched a while to find anything on it.
