Hi.

I'm a High School's Teacher and I'd like to integrate solidworks motion's study in my lesson.

I need to study simple 3D cinematisms like crank-rod and so on...

I'm attempting to build a dedicate PC based on AMD Ryzen processor (i.e. 7 2700).

My doubts concern the GPU card that I must choose for my workstation.

Due to the limited budget, about 200-250 $ for the GPU only, I've selected two possibile solution:

  • nVidia GeForce 1050 Ti with 4GB DDR Ram
  • nVidia Quadro P600 with only 2GB DDR Ram

If I go on the technical specs  see that GeForce has a number of CUDA cores (768) that is about 2 times that of the Quadro P600 GPU (384).

On the other hand, the Quadro P600 is on the SW's certified hardware list while the GeForce, no.

The question is: is better the more performance of the GeForce GPU or the hardware certification of the Quadro P600?

Any idea?

Thanks in advance
